The Carefree Black Girl Cookout Hits Brooklyn

carefree The Carefree Black girl cookout will be held in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, June 10th at Prospect Park beginning at 2pm. Spearheaded by Savannah born and NY-embedd Quanna, the cookout began as a way for women of color to come together and fellowship in a safe space.

Stemming from the hashtag #carefreeblackgirl, the movement was created to build a stronger line of communication amongst like minds. In a world against minority women, the #carefreeblackgirl cookout seeks outs solutions for the issues faced by women of color.

The #carefreeblackgirl cookout is sponsored by Curls, Broke2dope, Creative Era, Indie Creative Network, Sammi’s Goodies, and Izzy the Goddess. The cookout will include a braid bar, eyelash bar, and sensual meditation. The #carefreeblackgirl cookout has already visited Brooklyn, Savannah, and Atlanta with dates to visit Philadelphia and Charlotte to be announced.
