    BK 2 UK

Mean Joe Scheme, J57 and El Gant join Mark Ski for “BK 2 UK”, featuring a sick chop of Biggie’s “Unbelievable” track and a flurry of horns –

DJ/turntablist and producer Mark Ski has been active in the UK’s Hip-Hop scene for nearly two decades. In addition to producing the ground breaking Tutoritool series of battle wax, hosting his weekly ‘Funk by Funk’ radio show on Inspiration FM and DJ’ing regularly alongside a who’s who of Hip-Hop royalty, he has dropped two critically acclaimed beat tapes in the last 12 months, executive produced by NYC native MC & producer J57 for his FiveSe7en Music imprint.

Brimming with funky beats, vocal samples and well-placed cuts, his ‘Play-Dioh: Beat Compound’, landed well within the ears of diehard Hip Hop listeners.

For this limited edition run of 250, 10” vinyl release, FiveSe7en Music combines beats from the original ‘Play-Dioh’ alongside two new remixes featuring El Gant, J57 and Mean Joe Scheme. The ‘BK2UK (Play-Dioh Remix)’ sees all three MC’s blessing an extended version of the original beat, whilst the ‘Funk by Funk Remix’ flips it even further with a thick bassline groove featuring classic era horns on the hook, all mixed in LA by Street Corner Music artist Tenacity. On the flip, four remastered favourites from the digital only ‘Play-Dioh’ beat tape – all pressed for the first time on picture disk vinyl featuring the same acclaimed artwork style.
