Steve Xanny is an emerging Toronto based-artist who mixes shadowy imagery with an aggressive triplet-style flow. His first set of EPs Yonge King & No Dopamine, paint the image of a cold, dark city set in the dead of winter. The heavy instrumentals underneath uniquely blended layers of aggressive rap and melodious chanting showcase the beauty but cold indifference of the city. He has been producing video since the age of sixteen and jotting down raps since elementary school recess. He is currently working on the project No Dopamine Pt. II with producer Chase Blanco (@chase_blanco).

Steve Xanny’s first self-produced video, Emo Whale, draws inspiration from the sad, animated sitcom Bojack Horseman, while being reminiscent of themes in Eminem’s “Kim”. A wavy melody carrying a layer of raspy vocals make the video cinematic enough to almost seem like a short film.

  1. Had the pleasure of working part-time with Steve a few years back (not in music, a retail job). He’s a great guy, very friendly, and will break his back to help a friend. Can’t think of any up and coming artist I know who deserves this feature more than he does.
    Cheers
