Temporary Hero – “We’re Still Here” (Aún Estamos Aquí) | @temporary_hero |

In the midst of the horrific tragedy on the island of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Temporary Hero takes time to tribute a song called “We’re Still here”. The song is extremely touching and strong lyrics to give a direct response to #45 aka Trump (We don’t call him our president over here). Temporary Hero not only addresses him but also brings awareness to the rest of the United States to not forget so quickly what is going on over there.

There’s still little power on the island. In many places there’s still no water to drink or bathe in or to flush toilets. There’s limited food and cell service, and dozens of remote villages have been completely cut off from everything for weeks. Hero wants to let the world know that with or without #45’s help they will stand strong and rebuild.

A beautiful message. (Read the lyrics below)

LYRICS

We woke up in a mess
After a night of distress
Our seas of indigo
Turned dull and lost their glow
Our trees standing tall
with pride they took their fall
now all that’s here to see
is our humanity

You keep paying lip service
But you don’t lift a finger
You send out your prayers
but praying isn’t enough you act so tough
well

You can turn your back on us
But we’re still here
Aun estamos acqui
Standing strong we’ll rebuild it up
cause we’re still here
Aun estamos acqui

Oceans apart but we
are the same you and me
made up of flesh and blood
so I thought you understood
when someone needs your help
when there are mouths to feed
why can’t you show yourself
as a man with dignity

You keep paying lip service
But you don’t lift a finger
You send out your prayers
praying isn’t enough you act so tough
well

You can turn your back on us
But we’re still here
Aun estamos acqui
Standing strong we’ll rebuild it up
cause we’re still here
Aun estamos acqui
take your hatred somewhere else
we’re still here
Aun estamos acqui
so you can act like you did your deed
and disappear
Aun estamos acqui

Todavia estamos acqui
Todavia estamos acqui
Why do you treat us in the way you do
Is it in our color or the hate in you
