Alex Vickery – “Warmest Regards” | @thealexvickery |

ALEX VICKERY SENDS ‘WARMEST REGARDS’ TO EX (Who had the audacity to move on. Rude. )

A Grammy-winning Beyoncé collaborator, an A-List production team and a cake-making Instagram influencer-shot lyric video; this is Sony ATV singer-songwriter Alex Vickery’s recipe for a debut single. And she hopes it tastes good.

Warmest Regards perfectly describes that moment when an ex moves on with someone else, and peels back the layers of the emotional journey that ensues; from superficial well-wishes to underlying bitterness and hostility.

“Everyone wants to ‘win’ a breakup, and with social media, it’s really easy to start competing in terms of who cares less, who is living their best life and who has moved on the fastest,” Alex said.

“When someone sends their ‘best wishes’ or ‘warmest regards’ its such a generic greeting or sign off – so I wanted to explore the hurt simmering underneath the niceties we use when we’re trying to be the bigger person.”

Her collaborators are no joke; Alex wrote Warmest Regards with songwriter-to-the-stars Midian Mathers, who won a GRAMMY last year for her contribution to Beyoncé’s iconic Lemonade album. It was produced by Todd Spadafore (Little Big Town, Juelz Santana), and mixed by Michael Biancaniello (Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks).

Having penned social change ballads behind the scenes for GRACE (Sony/RCA), and romantic love songs for K. Michelle (Atlantic) as a songwriter, Alex found herself with a lot of pent-up petty energy, so she decided to release it unashamedly on her own project, for the first time.

“I write these beautiful love songs and protest songs for other people, and I think that’s so important for the world right now, so I try to put as much of that into my writing and into the universe as I can,” Alex said.

“But I think we also need to feel that even while the world is in turmoil politically and societally, its ok to have a self-indulgent outlet and still beupset about these micro-crises we all continue to have in our personal lives – like when your ex moves on.”

Alex has written for GRACE, Brandy, K.Michelle, Becky Hill, Tayler Buono, Conrad Sewell, Mike Stud and Kiana Lede. She is a classically trained musician, with an A.Mus.A on violin and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism majoring in Popular Music from Griffith University/Conservatorium of Music in Queensland, Australia, where she grew up.

After signing a worldwide deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, she now lives in Los Angeles.

Warmest Regards is out April 5th on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Amazon, and most other relevant platforms, with a influencer lyric video to follow in the coming weeks.
