Singer & songwriter Alice Ella releases her new single ‘SOMEWHERE ELSE’ 20/09/19,
alongside an ‘ALTERNATIVE MIX’ on 11/10/19 and a ‘FUTURE HOUSE REMIX’ on 08/11/2019 .
The official video will be released on 04/10/2019.
Known for her soulful voice and ambient production, Alice has come back once again with a catchy hook amidst beautiful dark tones.
‘When I was writing the song, I wanted to get across the feeling of being so immersed within the intimacy of a relationship that I would forget everything else going on in my life, even if just for a moment. I was able to escape my own body and feel like nothing else mattered. The song is about my personal journey of recovery from chronic ill health, when I longed to escape the prison my own body had become. I hope that it will connect with people going through dark times and this song is for anyone who wants to escape from themselves, escape from everyday life and feel freedom.’
The single, produced by Scott Stoddart (one half of the well known production duo ‘Dasco’) features two remixes – a ‘future house’ mix by Jeff Nang and an ‘alternative mix’ by Uncon.
The video encapsulates the raw emotion of the song and fragility of the lyrics. Live video footage is projected onto Alice’s body, cutting to vintage shots that represent escapism and freedom. Intimate moments to camera, contrasted by dynamic projections, create tension alongside Alice’s captivating and powerful performance.
The remix videos take the viewer into a glitching geometric dreamscape of colour and complex kaleidoscopic patterns that reflect the nature of the remixes.
Alice’s main influences include Nao, London Grammar, Sinead Harnett and Sabrina Claudio.
Alice Ella’s debut single ‘Summer Sun’ was successfully
crowdfunded by a kickstarter campaign and used for a Roland / Boss vocal pedal advert. This was then followed by her second single ’24 Obsession’ with a sold out headline show at the Hospital Club London.

Alice has recently had one of her original songs ‘Broken’ played on Australia’s ‘Love Island’. This song was also used for an advert for the TV series ‘Dr Foster’ in Russia.
