Bad Honey – “Time Is Not” | @badhoneymusic |

Bad Honey (fka LVNA) have unveiled feel-good single ‘Time Is Not’, taken from their brand new EP, ‘Better In Time’. Marking the release of their first EP under the new moniker, the latest track follows ‘Motions’ and ‘Stuck On You’ which were released in March to great acclaim from COMPLEX, The Line Of Best Fit and Worldwide FM, as well as the latter making its way onto Spotify Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland’s New Music Friday playlists. Based in South East London, the duo (Lydia Clowes & Teresa Origone) have already garnered strong international support for their dreamy, electronic soul, with the release of their debut EP pushing them into the top 10 of the UK Viral 50. ‘Time Is Not’ sees the band placing their blissful harmonies front and centre as the infectious chorus swirls over a classic stomp clap beat. Having previously performed at The Roundhouse, The Jazz Cafe and Omeara, playing shows with Little Simz and GoGo Penguin, Bad Honey are set to return to the live circuit this year with a string of appearances in support of their new EP.

‘Time Is Not’ was written on the band’s final night on the small Island of Søndre Sandøy in Norway, during the recording sessions at Family Day Recordings. Not initially intended for the EP due to the spontaneity of its creation, ‘it seemed to kind of tie everything together’ so was added at the very last moment. All the songs on the EP ‘have the theme of time in common and this track sums up how the feeling of time can be manipulated depending on your state of mind.’ Referencing this in the track’s contrasting verses and chorus, Bad Honey deliberately wrote each section ‘as if they were completely separate songs’. Lydia’s dulcet vocal treads delicately over a bed of piano before erupting into a hard-hitting chorus, infused with thick gospel harmonies. Once again blending their classic soul with a forward-thinking soundscape, ‘Time Is Not’ is yet another bold, pop triumph.
