New York-based singer and songwriter chloe mk unveils her new single “To Be Young” today. Get it HERE via Republic Records.
Emblematic of the artist’s idiosyncratic and irresistible “internet-pop” sound, the track pairs lush and dreamy production with her bold vocals. She crescendos towards an identifiable declaration, “Somebody tell me what the hell is going on.”
Of her genre-bending sound, chloe mk says, “Right now the internet is a melting pot of sounds and influences… there’s absolutely no rules. I think my songs are the exact same way and “internet-pop” just felt like the best way to describe my sound. There’s sadness, there’s emotion, there’s honesty, but there’s also these really bright, euphoric-pop sounds. Like fantasy vs. reality…. which is what the internet basically is.”
“To Be Young” also serves as the perfect introduction to chloe mk’s next phase and precedes the arrival of the forthcoming Fantasy EP—due out this summer on Republic Records.
chloe mk continues to add, “Every listener can find personal truth in this song—and all of the songs on Fantasy. Each track is laced with a euphoric, hyper-real sensation of what it means to be young—and what it means to be alive today.”
This June, chloe mk hits the road supporting Sizzy Rocket across the United States. The tour launches June 16 in Chicago, IL, visits major markets in the Midwest, and concludes June 22 in New York, NY. The full itinerary can be found below.
chloe mk reshapes the scope of pop. The Nashville native initially cut her teeth by playing classic rock in small clubs and bars before making her way on to NBC’s The Voice. She emerged victorious on the show in 2017, inked a deal with Republic Records, and fashioned her singular style.
