During the Golden Globe Awards, Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios president) addressed the long winded Fox/Disney deal and what it means for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
“The truth is I’m excited for all of them,” Feige told MTV. “And it’s not just the marquee names, you know? There are hundreds of names on those documents, on those agreements. The fact that Marvel is as close as we may ever get now to having access to all of the characters is something I’ve been dreaming about for my almost 20 years at Marvel. It’s very exciting.”
Kevin stated that hes very excited for the future of Marvel and plans to start giving the the people what they want and NEED within the next 6 months. Although it will be some time before we see X-Men under a different banner but he mentioned that project development will begin soon.
Back in 2017, Disney reached a deal to buy 21st Century Fox for $71.3 Billion dollars, meaning Fox’s superheroes like X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool could all fall under Marvel Studios, (yay!) and Kevin seems set to capitalize on it. Check out some of the interview with Fiege and MTV news below.
