London-based songwriter and musician Fred Lessore – of Anglo-French and Malagasy descent – has now revealed the official video for ‘Linger’.
The music video for ‘Linger’ truly is a sight to behold. Both written and directed by Fred Lessore, with 3D animation from Bambi Kirschner, the retro-futuristic spectacle tells a tale of loss, love, and acceptance.
The stunning visuals for the music video follow the story of an android call girl, as she begins to experience self-awareness and human emotion. After developing feelings for one of her clients, she begins to take a stand against the ever-upgrading expectations of modern technology.
Speaking on the release, Fred says “Once I had seen Bambi’s work, I knew that she was the perfect collaborator for Linger. Together with Xabier Celaya, we put together a striking visual that doesn’t just add context to the song. It’s become a graphic narrative that elevates Linger and has created an entirely different achievement in itself.”
Taking inspiration taken from Blade Runner and Japanese anime, Linger truly embodies the young songwriter’s musical style, delivering an extraordinary narrative that complements the peaks and valleys of the song’s already beautiful simplicity.
Fred’s work focuses on lyrical narratives, combining traditional storytelling techniques and catchy hooks to create a mature sound that belies his years.
Whilst recording new music, Fred has been emerging through London’s live circuit, including bookings at Hootananny Brixton & Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
Stay tuned for forthcoming material.
