EDM/Electronic artist Isaac Ingram shares the brooding visual accompaniment to his song “HER”
The track is a poignant open letter that contains all the things that Isaac wishes he had said to a past love. In the video we witness an intimate performance with Isaac standing spotlit on stage delivering the song’s message directly to “HER”. Against the upbeat nature of the song, the visual juxtaposes a dark story with a macabre climax offering a visceral demonstration of Isaac’s desire to give his heart to the girl.
The song opens with a simple progression of piano chords and slowly builds into a high-energy and multi-dimensional EDM track. The track exemplifies Isaac Ingram’s variety of self-taught musical talents and mastery of many genres, from EDM, to trap, to hip-hop/rap. It’s impossible to ignore the beat-centric nature of Isaac’s music, his creations are all anchored by a tight and punchy production.
He explains “When I write a song, I have to connect to the beat. Then the words and melodies just flow out of me. To me, the beat is the most important part of a song. It’s crucial. It functions as a base, as a foundation and it gives you the groove, the vibe, the melody and the emotion”. The track exemplifies Isaac Ingram’s variety of self-taught musical talents and mastery of many genres.
“HER” was featured on Isaac Ingram’s latest album High School Insomnia (2018), the followup to Heartbreak Boy (2017).
