Lou Phelps Drops New Single ‘Squeeze’ Feat. JAHKOY | @LoU_pHELPS |

With one week until lift off, Montreal’s Lou Phelps teases fans with another single off his forthcoming LP 002 / Love Me. New single, “Squeeze” features a smooth vocal performance by fellow Canadian R&B singer JAHKOY and production by ROMderful of tastemaker label Soulection. Heavy hi-hats, silky synth work and effortless weaving between hip-hop bars and R&B grooves “Squeeze” is another teaser on what we can expect from the highly anticipated album (pre-order HERE).

With a nimble flow ideal for taking on glitchy and off-kilter electronic production, Lou Phelps crafts creative club bangers. Following up the Juno Award nominated 001 / Experiments, Lou Phelps announces 002 / Love Me, his upcoming album. With Lou’s brother KAYTRANADA taking the helm behind the boards and assuming an executive producer role, 002 / Love Me is a sonically innovative hybrid of electro and rap, with Lou Phelps attacking the instrumentals with inventive rhythms and relatable lyrics. Featuring appearances from BadBadNotGood, Jahkoy, Planet Giza, Pony, and drum master, Karriem Riggins002 / Love Me releases on September 21st via Last Gang Records. Lou will deliver the new music live on stages across Canada through a fall tour, with stops in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto. See below for a complete list of dates.

More About Lou Phelps

A longtime fixture of the Montreal arts scene, Lou Phelps is one of Canada’s foremost purveyors of club-rap bangers. Lou started making music in 2011 with his older brother Kevin, aka the Polaris Prize-winning producer KAYTRANADA, forming a future-rap group called The Celestics. Using the moniker Louie P, Lou developed a reputation for creating tasteful and danceable electro rap, releasing Supreme Laziness in 2014 and curating Cause I Wanna, an 80-minute DJ mix that featured tracks from innovative electronic artists like DJ Rashad, RP Boo, and Kyle Hall, showcasing his excellent taste and long list of influences. In 2017, Lou released 001: Experiments, his debut project which racked up over 1 million plays on SoundCloud, featured appearances from Bishop Nehru, Innanet James, KALLITECHNIS, and CJ Flemings, and earned a nomination from Canada’s Juno Awards for Rap Recording of the Year. Look out for more music from Lou in 2018, as the young rapper continues to evolve as an artist.
