Marc E. Bassy – “Save Me” | @MARCEBASSY |

Singer, songwriter and producer Marc E. Bassy made waves with his critically acclaimed 2016 debut Groovy PeopleEP. Among a tracklisting of hits such as “Morning” and “Dirty Water,” it vaulted “You & Me” [feat. G-Eazy] onto the Billboard Hot 100 as the track generated 260 million-plus Spotify streams and achieved a platinum certification from the RIAA within two years.

Hot on its heels, he dropped his first full-length, Gossip Columns, and landed yet another smash in the form of “Plot Twist” featuring Kyle. In the album’s wake, he co-headlined the Bebe & BassyTour alongside Bebe Rexha and launched his Gossip Columns Tour, selling out venues coast to coast. Along the way, the artist received widespread praise from BillboardComplexHypebeastXXLHot New Hip Hop, The FADER, Spin and many more. Positioned for pop supremacy with his forthcoming second full-length set for 2019, Bassy’s rise to the top is just beginning.

Bay-Area singer-songwriter Marc E. Bassy may best known for his platinum breakthrough single “You & Me” or the numerous top-charting collaborations with G-Eazy, Hailee Steinfeld, Kehlani, Kyle and many more. But he proves he’s no one-hit-wonder, stepping out into 2019 as a fully independent artist with the announcement of his self-made label, “New Gold Medal.”

Bassy parted ways with longtime label Republic Records at the end of 2018 following the release of his EP ‘Postmodern Depression’ and today celebrates the launch with with a brand new hit single, entitled “Save Me”. The new track serves as the lead single off his forthcoming album, due out sometime this summer.

Bassy calls “Save Me” an ode to those fighting for love. The moment you realize there’s nothing more important than the battle to finding that one true love. The seductive track was inspired by the Spike Lee movie, “Mo Beta Blues”,

“I was watching this old Spike Lee movie, and in the end the main character retreats from a life of womanizing to his true love. As he is professing his love she stops him and says “you just want me to save your life” and he drops to his knees and tells her she’s right. That’s the moment that put the song in my head…” Bassy describes.

After being fully immersed in the label realm, Bassy made the decision to take back control and create his own destiny. His journey to self-discovery lead to the making of “New Gold Medal”, an independent indie label, created by Bassy, his manager, Fess, Count and Big Pony. With the team’s advantage of obtaining valuable knowledge from past experiences within label companies, the team has a great understanding of what is needed to succeed.

The name was inspired by the new way the music industry is portrayed, it’s not about your bottom line and who has the biggest cars and jewelry anymore, but instead, it’s about who is inspiring and who is wearing their heart and soul on their sleeve in a way that shows skill and commitment.

Bassy is also gearing up to hit the road with Jon Bellion on an extensive 35-city North American amphitheater tourthis summer titled The Glory Sound Prep Tour, kicking off June 12 at The Met in Philly.
