The city of Atlanta showed up to the polls and showed out on the votes for the new Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. She has declared victory in Tuesday’s runoff election for mayor against fellow Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood.

Keisha Lance Bottoms is an American politician and lawyer who is the mayor-elect of Atlanta, Georgia and has been a member of the Atlanta City Council since January 4, 2010, representing part of Southwest Atlanta. She serves as the Vice-Chair of the Council’s Public Safety Committee, and has served as Chair of the Council’s Zoning Committee. She has also been a practicing lawyer for over twenty years. Bottoms will be the first native-born Atlantan to serve as mayor since Sam Massell.
