South African, Punk Trap artist / producer PatricKxxLee drops visuals for his latest single, “SO&SO”
Quashing all comparisons to other rappers, Patrick counters without apology but with witty Game Of Thrones metaphors, on a catchy beat – as always one of his own signature synth heavy productions. With over 1m plays on SoundCloud and a cult following in South Africa, Patrick’s music is just starting to gain recognition in the US; upon the release of the track, SO&SO made it on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” playlist.
The fast-paced colorama video was shot in Johannesburg with a godardian film making style directed by DIRXTOPE.
PatricKxxLee’s first studio album “Diary Of An Arsonist” gets released to much critical acclaim in 2017, and overnight Patrick gets catapulted to the forefront of new wave artists in South Africa, rallying a cult following around him that’s second none in the country. Known for his wild and energetic performances that often involve moshpits and crowdsurfing, the Zambian-born but Johannesburg-raised artist becomes known as South Africa’s “King of Rage” and gets booked for some of the country’s most respected festivals. With over a decade of Fruity Loops under his belt, the 22-year old becomes a sought-after and award-winning producer, working with some of the African continent’s biggest artists, including DJ Maphorisa, Cassper Nyovest, M.I. and Ice Prince.
