Showtime has released the series premiere of its new comedy Black Monday, early across multiple platforms. The series stars Don Cheadle along with Andrew Rannells, actress Regina Hall and VEEP’s Paul Scheer.
The show takes viewers back to October 19, 1987 – aka Black Monday, the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. To this day, no one knows who “caused it” … until now. It’s the story of how a group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street and ended up crashing the world’s largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine and the glass ceiling.
Black Monday was created by David Caspe and Jordan Cahan, who serve as executive producers and showrunners along with Cheadle. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are executive producers and directed the pilot.
Black Monday guest stars include Yassir Lester, Horatio Sanz,and Michael James Scott, with recurring guest stars Casey Wilson, Ken Marino, and Kurt Braunohler. Emmy and two-time Oscar® nominee Bruce Dern, Melissa Rauch, Julie Hagerty, Kadeem Hardison, Eugene Cordero, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Tim Russ and Jason Michael Snow also guest star.
