Sonia Stein has just revealed a Kartell remix for her new single ‘Change Shapes’, an uplifting new pop anthem for the summer which has been co-produced by Anu Pillai (Justin Timberlake, Ladyhawke).
‘Change Shapes’ is undoubtedly Sonia’s most unabashed joyous pop offering to date and Kartell adds his signature nu-disco and R&B accents for this remix. Widely acclaimed as an innovative DJ and producer, Kartell spearheaded the Parisian label Roche Music in 2012, which is home to artists like FKJ and Darius and has also collaborated with artists like Karma Kid and Lianne La Havas.
In Sonia’s own words, Change Shapes is about the fluidity of our identity and the freedom but also the fear that comes with that. It is also a reminder to myself that no matter what I try to project, people will see me as they are, not as I am and vice versa (“hold these mirrors up to face me, and I’ll become what you want baby”)’.
Previous singles include Do You Love Me’, ‘One of Those Things’ and ‘Muse’ which now combine circa 2-million views on You Tube and over half a million Spotify streams.
Sonia has recently taken her enchanting live set to the Great Escape this year and previously tour supported the likes of Betsyand Alice Jemima.
More UK live dates to be announced shortly.
