Returning from the release of his music video for “BlueMo2n,” which premiered in Variance Magazine, the versatile rapper/singer is back with “Ghost”, a melodic effort assisted by Ted Park, of Korean superstar Jay Park’s H1ghr Music label.
“Ghost” blends together K-Pop style R&B with reflective bars, conjuring a murky atmosphere woven with lush harmonies. The lyrics summarize the rising artist’s come-up over the past year, contrasting it with confessions of romantic uncertainty and regret. Singer Ted Park’s fingerprints are evident over the construction of the harmonic lines and the recording process. “As 2019 comes to a close, this song acts as a synopsis of the past year for me, as I took a big leap of faith with my music while facing uncertainty in all other aspects of my life.” His EP comes later this year.
Shan is a rapper and singer based out of NYC, but his roots stretch far beyond. Raised between the Far East, and the East and West Coasts, he weaves his multitude of experiences into his music, which blends assertive Hip-Hop with moody R&B, underpinned by reflective yet biting lyrics. T. Shan’s music presents a setting – a place and time – that takes the listener into a moment in the life of the artist. His work reflects the braggadocious highs and melancholic lows of urban life, yet never loses sight of where he and his family came from.
