Among the EP’s five tracks is a really soulful cut that I think really stands out titled, “Turbulence Music.” Incidentally, the beat borrows from the same “Pipeline” sample from the Incredible Bongo Band that DJ Premier used for Group Home’s, “Suspended in Time” —one of my favorite Hip-Hop tracks of all time. The beat also undergoes a beat change at around the 1:20 marker which further showcases Teck’s production savvy and talent.
Among the project’s five track’s is the soulful Boom bap slapper, “Turbulence Music.” Initially borrowing from the same “Pipeline” sample from the Incredible Bongo Band that DJ Premier used for Group Home’s, “Suspended in Time,” Teck showcases his knack for not just flipping samples, but also chopping and layering beats, which is particularly exemplified by the skillful beat change at around the 1:20 marker.
If you like what you hear, check out the remainder of his latest offering, which deftly fuses classic and modern sounds; from the shape-shifting form of “Inflight Musique” to the more peaceful moments, like on the absolutely serene opening cut “Takeoff Musique” and the R&B-tinged brass of “Landing Musique.” Jetsoul Musique is now available for your listening pleasure courtesy of Audiomack , Bandcamp and SoundCloud …safe travels!
